Angela received her dance training at Newtown High School of Performing Arts, Brent Street Studios, The National Theatre Ballet School and Ev & Bow.
In 2011 Angela founded Twisted Element, creating four full- length works between 2011-13. In 2014 Angela moved to the UK to further develop her artistic practice, it was during this time that she began working as art, fashion and specialist dance model, eventually touring nationally and internationally and in her second year, was invited to present workshops teaching photographers about dance aesthetics for the camera with renowned photography trainer Andrew Appleton. This also saw the pair being invited to The Johannesburg Photo and Film Expo where Angela delivered a stage presentation. In 2015, she was commissioned to choreograph her piece ‘Bird Woman’ for Transform Company in London. Angela also toured the UK teaching workshops in dance colleges, was guest teacher for the Cecchetti Associate Program at The Rambert School and presented her own creative professional workshops ‘Speaking Movement’ at Islington Arts Centre. Since moving back to Australia, Angela has re-established Twisted Element as an immersive and interactive dance theatre company. Twisted Element premiered their first immersive work ‘Opus’ in 2017 to sold out audiences and rave reviews. 'Opus' also toured to Circus Monoxide in Wollongong and The Arts House in Wyong in 2018. In 2019 the company has presented Angela's newest immersive work 'RITUAL' to another sold out season and more rave reviews, with quotes such as "Hypnotising mastery of immersive theatre" and "Jaw-dropping, spine-tingling, ground-breaking".
Angela is also a passionate teacher and mentor, working exclusively within elite programs such as Wild Hearts Co, NSW State Dance Companies and Brent Street's full-time contemporary program.
Raised in a small town in Pennsylvania in the USA, Charlotte Twitchell began her dance training at Lake Erie Ballet School and moved to the Erie Dance Conservatory in 2003.
Charlotte’s training consisted of classical ballet, modern, tap, and jazz. She also performed as a company member with the pre-professional dance company Erie Contemporary Ballet Theatre in 2005 until 2011 when she graduated from General McLane High School. She has attended many summer programs including Craft of Choreography summer intensive, ABT Detroit Summer
Dance Intensive, Dance Italia in Lucca, Italy, and Bates Summer Dance Festival. She has received scholarships like the ‘Craft of Choreography Grant’, and ‘Hutton Honors Creative Arts Grant.’
Charlotte attended Indiana University as an undergraduate dance major graduating with a B.S. in Dance and Kinesiology. In 2014, she studied a semester abroad in Jerusalem, Israel for six months with the Hebrew University Jerusalem- Academy of Music and Dance where she attended trained with master teachers and performed with the academy, collaborating with peers and professional choreographers.
She has had major dancing roles in many works, including pieces choreographed by Paul Taylor, Ohad Naharin, Larry Keigwin, Ihsan Rustem, Ella Ben-Aharon, and Elizabeth Shea. She has also created several of her own works, some of which have been chosen for and performed at dance festivals including The Indiana Dance Festival and Regional Dance America North East.
She is currently a dancer for Angela Hamilton’s Twisted Element in Sydney and has since performed major roles in their latest immersive works ‘Opus’ and ‘Ritual’.
Charlotte is a passionate teacher and choreographer and is excited and inspired working as a permanent instructor at Wild Hearts Youth Dance Company.
Born in Australia, William (Billy) Keohavong graduated on scholarship from New Zealand School of dance in 2015, and Ev & Bow Full-Time Training Centre in 2012. Starting out as a Hip- Hop dancer specialising in Dancehall and House, he then fortunately stumbled upon Contemporary Dance.
Through his driven and consistent passionate attitude, Billy was offered a position with ‘The Human Expression Dance Company’ (Sinagapore) as a full-time Artist in 2016. This opportunity brought him all over Asia and Europe, performing and touring extensively within festivals like;
Florence Dance Festival (Italy), Zawirowania Dance Festival (Poland), Laiks Dejot Festival (Latvia) Fukuoka Fringe Dance Festival (Japan), Daegu Dance Festival (South Korea), Bangkok International Dance Festival (Thailand) and M1 Contact Dance Festival (Singapore) just to name
a few. On top of all this, Billy has a strong passion for teaching and movement research. He has worked closely as a teacher and coach with full-time institutes like ‘Brent Street Full-Time’ and ‘Ev & Bow Full-Time Training Centre’. He is also one of the core teachers that helps train and nurture the full-time artists within ‘The Human Expression Dance Company’.
